Originally, practitioners wanted to obtain 'Sha'—redness that encourages the skin to heal itself. The massage technique involves gently rubbing the gua sha over the neck and face in an upward sweeping motion. When use regularly this tool helps to stimulate circulation, to decrease inflammation, to release tension, helps to boost collagen production and sculpt facials muscles.
